The Melissa Washington difference
LinkedIn is my niche. LinkedIn has been a cornerstone of my business, since I joined in 2004, only a year after they launched. As a matter of fact, I was the 1,000,408th user and last time I checked, LinkedIn had over 345 million users. As an early adopter, I definitely saw the potential of LinkedIn.
When I joined LinkedIn, I was a branch manager at a staffing company where we used the platform for sales and for recruiting. LinkedIn became mission-critical. After being downsized in 2009, I started utilizing LinkedIn very heavily as a job seeker by tapping into my online professional network as well as continuously building my network to look for employment.
Ways I have successfully used LinkedIn
- Sales- Finding the key decision maker at company and leveraging my network in order to not have to make a cold call
- Small Business Owner- Ability to network with other small businesses
- Recruiter- Find talent to fill hard to fill positions
- Non-Profit- Finding potential board member, fundraising efforts
- Event Planner- Finding out from colleagues ideal venue locations
- Job Seeker- Using LinkedIn “jobs” and groups
- Speaker- Promote Events
Using LinkedIn in all different aspects, helps make me a more valuable resource for your conference attendees. Talking and being on LinkedIn all the time there is opportunity for always learning and sharing new information with others. Let me be the ideal speaker for your program!
Filling seats is a priority. As an event planner myself, I understand, and will promote your event online using my corporate experience and network. Working with a dynamic speaker who engages and creates audience interaction, will help you look good and increase event attendance.
My workshops are engaging for all participants as I encourage full participation by getting to know each other through sharing attendee perspectives.
Believe me, nobody is just sitting there listening. They’re all interacting!
